In this exercise we had to do a chart on excel and a table of values.

I gave some values and used different equations to get answers so I can give values to the chart, I had to be careful and change some numbers for the chart to be clear and well done.

Class poster

This is the las project of the trimestrer. We had to do a poster with photos of the classmates.

I was listening to SUM 41 and I thought it would be good idea to make the poster look like the album 'All Killer, No Filler' since it has also some photos in it, I could put the classmates photos to look like the ones in the album.

This is the photo of the album:

So what I did was expand the imagen to have DIN A3 shape and replace the photos of the bandmates for the ones of my classmates, my teacher and I. I also had to erase some parts of the photos around the SUM 41 text so it can be visible and similar to the real album. To finish I put some colorful filters, like it says on the instructions of the project.

And this is the finished poster:

Mosaic of photos with filters

What we had to do in this project was to select three landscape photos and experiment a little withe the Gimp filters, editing each image in two different ways.

The idea was to choose different landscapes of places with contrasted weather.
This are the images I selected:

And this is the finished project

Grey Scale

In this exercise we had to edit a photo in a certain way so only one colour can be visible, in this case, the dress (yellow) and the rest has to be grey.

This is the initial image:

Beautiful, isn't she?

What i did was duplicate the image in a different layer and made the one in the bottom grey, then I selected the dress of the top layer (the image with color) with the scissors select tool and finaly I erased the rest of the image, making everithing gray except the dress.
I finished the project by writing my name and the name of the singer Siouxie.

Ercilla Museum

In this activity we had to put some paintings in photos of our highschool to make it look like a museum.

To do that I used layers for the different paintings and changed the opacity of them, I also croped them to make it look like the paintings are in the windows.

Here is the initial photo of the hallway:

And this are the paintings I used, they were all made by Frida Kahalo (extraordinary artist):

This is the final product:

Working with layers

First I created some geometric shapes; a circle, a triangle and some rectangles. After that I moved the elements and layers creating new images. I also changed the opacity to make a difference.

Exercise 60:

I did the next exercise using the same dynamic but choosing different photos.
This are the photos I used:

Exercise 70:

Project Gimp 001

I chose this photo, and decided that I was going to eliminate the black stick, some persons far away entering the windmill and the tower crane.

I used the clone tool and deleted carefully and then I centered the image with the crop tool. This is the final result:

Digital images mental map

My meaningful question is… Can you make an image larger than 717 megapixels (the highest number of megapixels in a photo)? and if you can, how would you do it?

2. Free Wi-Fi problem

2.My brother always uses public libraries conections to do his online works. He has an important job and manage sensible information about clients and business. I think this is not a good idea to use public wi-fi connections to do so… What do you think and why…

I don´t think is a good idea to do that because...

The biggest threat to free Wi-Fi security is the ability for the hacker to position himself between you and the connection point. So instead of talking directly with the hotspot, you're sending your information to the hacker.

While working in this setup, the hacker has access to every piece of information you're sending out on the Internet: important emails, credit card information and even security credentials to your business network so it´s so dangerous for him and the information of his clients

Hackers can also use an unsecured Wi-Fi connection to distribute malware. If you allow file-sharing across a network, the hacker can easily plant infected software on your computer.

Here are some tips so he can protect himself:

1. Turn on your VPN: A VPN encrypts the connections between your device and the VPN server. This prevents anyone who tries to intercept your WiFi connection on an unsecured public WiFi network

2. Check that your antivirus is up and running.

3. Avoid filling in sensitive information (passwords, credit card details, SSN, home address, etc.) while connected to public networks.

4. Scan your devices for malware with antivirus software.

5. Do the work in another moment or with a more secure Wi-Fi (in your house, a friend house, etc.)

1. Problem with messages

1. I have recently received emails and instant messages that look legitimate at first glance. These messages come with URLs that prompt you to input your personal information. In turn, I think It will steal my credentials and use them to access my accounts and personal data.

This problem is very common and happens to many people these days, but you should not trust or think that it is not a big deal because these messages often trick you into paying and scamming you, getting information from you, hacking and many other things. Therefore the best you can do is:

1. If you suspect that an email message don't open any links or attachments that you see

2. Ignore and report, copy the message and forward it to 7726 (SPAM). This helps your wireless provider spot and block similar messages in the future.

if you have fallen into the trap:

3. Immediately change the passwords on all affected accounts, and anywhere else that you might use the same password.

4. If this attack affects your work or school accounts, you should notify the IT support folks at your work or school of the possible attack

5. If you've lost money, or been the victim of identity theft, don't hesitate, report it to local law enforcement.
